99 Cents Pizza

99 Cents Pizza is another small location in NYC that serves slices of pizza for $1.This hole in the wall is located on Broadway and happens to be right next to one of the more famous locations Joes Pizza. On our way back from a bar we wanted to grab a slice, so I suggested that we get Joes since it was on the way back to the train station. Well, when we arrived the line for it was out the door. As good as Joes Pizza is I was not waiting in a line that long. So that’s how we came upon the little 99 Cents Pizza joint right around the corner. The pizza here wasn’t bad I would actually prefer it over the 2 Bros Pizza that I reviewed before.

Pizza review

  • Plain Slice:

Pros: Decent Flavor, Good Crust

Cons: Mediocre flavor

Price: $ 0.99

When compared to another $1 pizza this slice not only looks but tastes and feels better than the other. 2 Bros Pizza had a cheap test to it and really relied on a lot of cheese to push the flavor. This slice, however, had, in my opinion, a better overall flavor. The biggest difference would be the flavor of the crust. Although 2 Bros Pizza had a fluffier texture, 99 Cents Pizza had a better taste. The taste of 2 Bros was a lot more doughy and you could taste the flour. The crust of this slice wasn't anything special but it lacked the doughy flour taste which I could appreciate. This slice overall was definitely a better option than the first when it comes to $1 pizza.
