NY Pizza Suprema

The first great thing about NY Pizza Suprema is the location. This place is located right next to the train station and MSG making it super convenient for anyone, like myself, that takes the train into the city or for anyone that is at MSG for an event. Not only is this place in a great location its also a really good slice. This place has been featured on Good Day New York and has been rated best slice in Manhattan. My visit here was a good one the food was good and great for on the go or to sit for a quick bite. It’s a smaller location but it works for what it is. I definitely enjoyed the pizza here and would recommend it to anyone in the city.


 

Pizza Review

  • Upsidedown Pizza:

Pros: Delicous Sause, Fluffy Crust

Cons: Only getting one slice

Price: $4.50


This first slice called the Upside down is interesting and delicious. This is a thick and fluffy deep-dish square pie, much like a Sicilian pizza however, they put the Mozzarella cheese on the bottom and the sauce on top, thus the name upside down. I’ve seen this technique in one other place called L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn, NY. Which side note, the Pizza and Food there is fantastic hopefully I can make it there to give a review soon. Anyways, going back to the upside-down pizza, another unique feature is the sauce. The sauce that they make for this pie is a robust homemade onion based sauce. It’s a really delicious sauce and makes the whole pie in my opinion. They top the sauce off with some imported from Italy EVOO, Romano cheese and a couple of leaves of fresh basil. This was a really good slice and I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are a sauce lover.


  • Buffalo Chicken Pizza:

Pros: Good Chicken, Good Pizza sauce

Cons: Bland Buffalo Sauce

Price: $5.50


The second slice I got from here was the buffalo chicken pizza. This was a decent slice but definitely didn’t impress me as much as other slices form here. I am the type of person that likes a tasty buffalo sauce with a kick to it and this sauce was't cutting it for me. The chicken was very tender and had a good flavor however because the flavor of the pizza sauce is so prominent the flavor of the buffalo sauce is lost. This flaw makes the pie taste more like a chicken pizza rather than a buffalo chicken pizza. Having said that I still enjoyed the slice, the other elements of the pie helped make up for it. Overall I would say if you’re in the mood for a good buffalo chicken slice you may want to look at other options.
